Cavalier Goldendoodles

Eva and Maui have puppies from our beloved Cavalier Goldendoodles lines!

Eva is a ball loving, lap snuggling, soft coated sweetheart.  She adores her 'kids' and is so patient even with the littlest family members.  She loves her daily runs as well.  She has a soft loose curly coat.

Maui is a gem.  He has a beautiful stocky structure and amazing health and temperament.  He has the friendly, outgoing temperament that we love in our Cav's.  He is a beloved member of his family and is great with the kids and other pets in his home.

These babies will be 15-30 pounds with soft, loose wavy coats and sweet family friendly temperaments.

The babies are seven weeks old!  They have grown so much this week.  They are still little fluff balls but they are starting to show us their opinions and personalities.  They run in and out of the dog door all day and they have the hand of going potty outside. Yay! They are eating all hard crunch puppy food and they love to sleep in their crates.  Mama Eva is done nursing but she still takes time to play and interact with them every day as all good mamas do.

Their little brains are developed enough to begin training. They key for training pups is positive reinforcement.  They will always do what works for them which actually makes it really easy to shape behavior.  Activities that we like get attention and/or treats which increases the behaviors we like. When they get home they will be fully ready for training.  We like to keep treats and toys all over the house so that we can be constantly reinforcing behaviors that we like.

The other main task for this age is socialization.  We want to have these babies have positive experiences with new people and activities every single day.  The pups have been the darlings of all the visitors at our house these past few weeks and they love meeting new people. They are confident and haven't shown any fear when meeting new people which we love!

We are in the middle of potty training over here in the Hatch nursery.  Eva's babies are walking and playing and cutting teeth!  They have just started eating soft solid foods and mom is starting to wean them.  They love to snuggle in their puppy bed in their big crate which is the first step to potty training. We give the babies a distinct place to sleep and their natural den instinct leads them to walk away from their bed and go potty on the paper part of the pen. When they get a little older and when the weather warms up above freezing (we've had cold winter storms here all week...) then we will start exposing them to their potty area outside and they will start learning to use the doggy door. Weeks 4-6 are always the most labor intensive for us.  Once they are walking and using the doggy door to go potty outside we can turn more of our attention to training instead of cleaning.   Individual pictures are on the way!

The babies are 2 weeks old!  They are just starting to open their eyes and are starting to scoot around their little bed more and more.  This week their ears will start to open along with their eyes and they will enter their socializing period. This is when every experience teaches them what to expect from the world.  They are learning that they can interact with the world around them for things besides eating and sleeping.  We will continue to hold and interact with the babies every day and mom still spends most of her time in their box or next to their box.  They still sleep the majority of the day and they still rely on mom to stimulate them for all of their potty needs.

Eva has babies!  She delivered 8 babies on Thursday October 26th in the morning.  She had all 8 babies within three hours and she has settled into her role as a new mama so naturally.  The babies are all snuggled in and nursing and sleeping right alongside mama.  They will be in this neonatal period for the first two weeks.  Their eyes and ears are sealed shut and they are navigating the world with smell and touch.  We spend time holding and snuggling them in new and various positions every day to help their little nervous systems develop.  Eve eats as much food as we can give to her and she loves to have us sit next to her by the whelping box.
